Give Spanish 1 students a complete route from understanding a short introduction to holding a partner conversation and presenting a profile. This Todo Sobre Mí unit combines original fictional readings, interview cards, listening tasks and an A/B information gap to practice names, ages, activities and preferences. Bilingual directions, reference phrases and fictional identities help you support participation without collecting private information.

What's included

  • Teacher guide with a 6-session sequence, materials and differentiation: support, on level and challenge
  • Printed standards/skill connections and page-by-page contents
  • 3 introductory lessons on names, age phrases and preferences
  • 6 original fictional Spanish profile readings with comprehension questions
  • Spanish-English vocabulary and useful conversation phrases
  • 24 interview cards with 2 recording sheets for Spanish responses and follow-up details
  • Partner A and B reference sheets with a shared information-gap response page
  • Survey planning, results comparison and a profile-guessing activity
  • 2 teacher-read listening tasks with student response pages
  • Written profile project and a supported presentation/conversation task
  • Final language check and a new-conversation reading task
  • Bonus: Spanish-Listening.txt with the 2 separate fictional teacher listening scripts
  • Complete answer keys and model responses, plus a profile and conversation rubric

How to use it

Use in Spanish 1 classes or supported world-language groups for the printed 6-session sequence. Low prep: print selected pages and cut the 24 interview cards if using stations. Assign only the appropriate A or B reference for the first information-gap exchange and keep the shared response page; reunite the references to check afterward. Read the separate listening scripts with agreed repetition or written supports. Students may use fictional identities, pass on personal questions, and communicate through supported speech, signing, AAC or an agreed typed exchange. Assess understandable language and the taught patterns rather than eye contact or a particular accent.
