Get students with disabilities ready for their first job! This leveled job skills unit for special education and transition classes covers the whole process: workplace vocabulary, matching interests to types of jobs, reading 8 realistic job ads, filling out a real-looking job application with a fictional practice persona, dressing for an interview, answering interview questions with sentence starters, and the habits that keep a job: being on time, calling in sick or late and behaving professionally.

How to use it

Use it in life skills, special education, transition, vocational and CTE classes, or with job coaches. Teach one skill per session and assign each student the page at their level. The interview cards, behavior sort and call-in scripts work well for small groups and role-play, and the data sheet makes IEP progress monitoring easy.
