Teach kitchen equipment, measuring and recipe reading in one complete cooking basics unit. Students learn 36 kitchen tools from clear illustrations, measure dry and liquid ingredients the right way, decode recipe abbreviations and equivalents, learn cooking terms and double and halve recipes with fractions. A hands-on measuring lab, 24 task cards and Kitchen Tools Bingo keep it active, and leveled pages make it work for FACS and life skills classes alike.

How to use it
Use it at the start of a FACS, culinary, life skills, special education or independent living course, before the first cooking lab. Teach it as an 8-day unit or pull single pages for stations, sub days and review. Level 1 pages use large print, pictures and circle answers; Level 3 pages stretch students with multi-step conversions and scaling. Every measurement fact matches the USDA and NIST kitchen measurement tables, and every scaled amount has been checked.
