Launch a calm, consistent cell phone policy in your classroom with this ready-to-use phone-free classroom kit. It includes a fill-in classroom phone policy, 6 bold full-page posters, phone parking labels, a fair reminder ladder, a student contract, family letters in English and Spanish, and a launch lesson that explains WHY focus matters, without lecturing teens or treating phones as the enemy.

What's included

  • Teacher guide with a launch timeline, differentiation (support, on level, challenge) and tips
  • Setup guide + FAQ for tricky situations (family contact, medical needs, refusals, smartwatches)
  • Classroom phone policy template (fill in & post) + a completed sample policy
  • 6 full-page posters with large, bold type: Phone-Free Zone, Phone Parking, Be Here Now, Our Phone Expectations, Phones Away Minds On, Finished Early?
  • Phone parking pocket chart labels numbered 1-36 + chart header and spot assignment roster
  • 5-step reminder ladder display + teacher reminder log
  • 45-minute launch lesson plan: "Why Phone-Free?"
  • 10 lesson slides (two per PDF page, ready to project) on attention, task switching, notifications and a balanced view of phones, with honest, carefully worded research background
  • Guided notes, the hands-on Switch Challenge and an exit ticket
  • 8 Policy in Action scenario cards for practicing the routine
  • My Phone Habits reflection + four-week check-in
  • Student agreement / contract with parent signature line
  • Family letter in English and in Spanish, each with a return slip
  • "Finished Early?" no-phone choice board with tracker
  • Answer and discussion key

How to use it

Send the family letters a week before you launch. Teach the 45-minute lesson on Day 1, practice the routine with the scenario cards on Day 2, then use the posters, parking labels and reminder ladder every day. Works in any subject, in advisory or homeroom, and for school-wide or state-required phone rules. Every template can be adjusted to match your school's official policy.
