Help teens build the pause between an urge and an action. These impulse control activities give middle and high school students a simple, shame-free model (Spark, Space, Steer), 12 practical self-control strategies and plenty of realistic practice: 32 scenario task cards about phones, group chats, blurting in class, online buying, arguments, gaming and peer pressure, a class game with clear rules, a would-you-wait challenge, freeze-and-replay role-plays and a 1-week tracker. Respectful, never shaming and ready for advisory, SEL, school counseling or special education.

How to use it
Teach it as 7 short sessions (30-45 minutes), one session a week in advisory, or a 3-session core. Students learn the pause model, spot their own triggers, practice with the cards, game and role-plays, then track their urges for a week and write a personal Pause Plan. The cards and game also make a great Friday, review-day or sub-day activity. Print and go: just cut apart the cards and exit tickets.
